"As a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, I have been afforded the opportunity to be not only an active member of my sorority, but an active member of my community. AST has provided me the connections to work closely with local non-profit organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity and Power Packs Project of Lancaster. It’s really important to us as a sorority to make a difference in our community, and I wouldn’t be a part of these philanthropic efforts without AST.
Besides being a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, I am very involved in my on-campus community. I am an executive member of our campus’ Panhellenic Conference, which allows me to connect with women from all of the sorority’s on campus. Outside of Greek Life, I am also currently serving as the Secretary of the Millersville University College Democrats. It’s been an amazing experience to get to know so many different people here at Millersville, and an honor to help improve the community we are all a part of".
Chelsea Nolan & her family line, Homecoming 2016
The sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau find it extremely important to play an active role in our campus community. As a chapter we have taken on several incentives to help our own chapter, as well as Greek life grow as whole. During the spring semester of 2016, sisters came together to join in a campaign effort against the stigmas surrounding sorority women all over the world. We found it extremely important to educate our fellow students and those of the surrounding community of who we are, and are not as a chapter and as individual sisters. Many thanks to those who participated in the planning and execution of the event to make it so successful and impactful. Check out some of the images from the campaign below.
