Q: What are the practical benefits of being a member of Alpha Sigma Tau?
A: A women’s membership to Alpha Sigma Tau offers many practical benefits including scholarships, finical aid and loans, based on application. There are numerous opportunities to develop leadership and interpersonal skills through workshops, positions and holding an officership. Through volunteering with the chapter, a member is laying down a foundation of service to build upon for years to come. Once a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, the networking possibilities are endless and will last throughout time and all over the world
Q:What is the cost of a membership?
A:Each chapter has their own fixed expenses depending upon new member fees, dues and initiation based costs. More information on costs can be found at Alpha Sigma Tau’s national homepage. Q: What about the use of alcohol, illegal substances, irresponsible behavior and hazing?
A. Every National Panhellenic Council Sorority, including Alpha Sigma Tau, expects all of its members to obey local, state and federal laws regarding the consumption of alcohol and illegal substances. Alpha Sigma Tau has further set rules and regulations that all members must follow. Chapter funds may not be allowed to purchase alcohol and alcohol is not allowed at any Alpha Sigma Tau sponsored event. Millersville University and Alpha Sigma Tau donate a significant amount of money, time and resources in order to educate its members about alcohol and substance abuse. Hazing is against the law, and Alpha Sigma Tau has specific policies prohibiting hazing in any form. Millersville University also works very closely with Alpha Sigma Tau on Hazing prevention throughout the entire University.

Q: How can Alpha Sigma Tau help my daughter academically?
A: All members of Alpha Sigma Tau are required to keep and maintain a minimum GPA of at least 2.5. The Beta Iota chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau has the highest average GPA of any Greek Life Organization on campus.
Q:How does my daughter get involved?
A: Any member of the Millersville community wishing to get involved with Greek Life on Millersville’s campus is encouraged to participate in Panhellenic formal and informal requirement, based on the semester that they wish to join. They are also encouraged to personally contact our chapter through social media and the various events we hold on campus. These events can be found on our Twitter and Instagram pages.
